 | Grand River (13/5/06) - Kerry's first fly
experience...Other then almost becoming victim to the Grand River, it
was an excellent experience, much more exciting than shore fishing. I
caught nothing except a tree and my chest waders. I will definitely
attempt this again if I do not drown first. The fish were jumping
all around us, but alas none would take what we had to offer.
The river was above its normal flow, which may have made things a
little too bumpy today and the fish seemed finicky. Along the
river, we startled a deer and watched silently as it vanished into the
brush, the flash of its tail seen briefly as it sprinted away.
Hawks circled above most of the day, which was overcast and rainy at
times.

| 2006 opener (30/4/06) - Beaver Valley was the location near
Eugenia ON. We stayed at Cedars Cottage Resort on Eugenia Lake.
Saturday morning we sped to the upper sections of the Beaver, above
the lake with no luck. Moved to the Boyne river and began
hooking some average sized Brookies, as well as some Browns and
Rainbows along the way. After lunch, we headed further down the
river towards Clarksburg. Found a bridge with a few other cars
and decided to give it a shot. First cast, a nice silver bullet
of a Rainbow.
